Luminous received two Exeter Living Awards in the categories of New Business and Creative.

SETsquared Exeter member winner of two coveted awards

Luminous, a research and development company, who design and manufacture innovative hardware for global sporting events, West End and Broadway shows were announced winners in two categories at the recent Exeter Living Awards

The team, who are SETsquared Exeter members based at the Science Park Centre, received the awards at a lavish award ceremony on 7 March at the University of Exeter’s Great Hall, amid a guest list of 400 businesspeople.

The judges thought that Luminous stood-out for their originality and presented them the Creative award remarking: “Superb combination of technical and imaginative creativity delivering high-impact projects for some huge household name clients. Adds a splash of magic to major events – thrilling!”

The team, were also winners in the category of New Business. The judges said: “The mixture of experience and talent brought by the company founders, along with some serious hard work, has paid off. The future looks bright!”

Speaking of the successes, Director, Mike Badley said: “We were absolutely thrilled to win two Exeter Living Awards. We would like to thank everyone for their support in getting us to where we are today, including the SETsquared Exeter business acceleration team and look forward to our future projects with continued global expansion."

Other University of Exeter collaborations and partners were also successful at the awards including Exeter Science Park who scooped the award for Property, The CoLab received the Civic Award and heritage partner, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery received awards for Leisure and Tourism and the Platinum award for achievement.
