She said: “I’m still in shock that I was selected for the scholarship, the application process was intense, but I’m so excited to have been selected. It will be an excellent opportunity for me to improve my writing skills and see how a world-class journal is run.”

The BMJ host the successful interns for four-to-six weeks to give them an insight into medical communications. Students work alongside the editorial team to produce articles, cover new stories and create educational material.

Applicants have to go through a stringent selection processes involving writing numerous articles, CV checks and a telephone interview to be selected.
