Role

Chrissie runs the Centre for Biomedical Modelling and Analysis – a Wellcome-funded research initiative bringing together academics from the quantitative sciences (including maths, physics and computer science) with researchers and clinicians in biology, biomedicine and the clinical sciences.

The Centre has six research fellows and five PhD positions. Chrissie is responsible for managing and promoting the Centre across the University and Medical School to help support and develop its growth.

Profile

Chrissie joined the University in December 2015. Her background is in scientific publishing and project management with a focus on the academic sector.

After a degree in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry from Warwick University, Chrissie worked across a number of journals and reference works – including roles at nature publishing group, Oxford University, and the Royal Society. Chrissie has experience across many scientific disciplines, and has developed titles in subjects including cognitive science, chemical physics, genetics, ecology and evolution.

Most recently, Chrissie was a Project Manager at the Institute of Physics – developing and managing two undergraduate curriculum websites in biological and quantum physics.
