Overview

As Networks Facilitation Officer, I facilitate the activity of the Exeter Research Networks and create enabling conditions for high quality research to take place.

My background is in social evolution and behavioural ecology. During my PhD at the University of Groningen (the Netherlands) I focused on theoretical models of the evolution of complex group behavior, such as division of labour. After my PhD, I moved to Cambridge to study family interactions in insects. At Exeter, I performed research on the evolution of insecticide resistance and sexual selection. I enjoy using the skills gained during my own interdisciplinary research to help researchers at Exeter connect through collaborative interdisciplinary networks.

Qualifications

2012 – PhD Theoretical Biology (University of Groningen)
2006 – TopMaster Evolutionary Biology (University of Groningen)
2003 – BSc Biology (University of Lisbon)
