PhD (Aeronautical Engineering) - Loughborough University

Career

For his PhD, John worked in the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre at Loughborough Univeristy on the integrated numerical simulation of fluid flow, thermal and stress fields in gas turbine combustors. Following on from this, he worked in the same group on a number of post-doctoral projects in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and design optimisation, and spent some time working at Rolls-Royce Derby in a software development role.

John has also worked as a Unified Model System developer at the Met Office Hadley Centre for climate science. In his spare time he has developed mobile apps using the Unity Engine.
