Lorna Barnes is the Communities Engagement Manager for the MRC Centre for Medical Mycology and is responsible for public engagement and external communications.
After graduating from King’s College London, Lorna worked in the film industry shaping big-screen projects with writers and directors as a Development Executive, before becoming a producer in live performance and the art world, with organisations including Shakespeare's Globe, RADA, White Cube and Trinity Laban. Prior to joining the University of Exeter Lorna was Executive Director of Wellcome funded arts organisation Clod Ensemble which ran the 'Performing Medicine' programme, engaging audiences with biomedical science research. Lorna is interested in interdisciplinary approaches to engaged research, and the civic role of universities.
