About this course:

If you think finance at the University is a bit of a mystery or a bureaucratic burden then this course will demystify our finance function and misconceptions and explain in plain English what it is all about.

The course covers topics such as procedures, budgeting and year end; what Finance Services do and should help you understand some finance jargon.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to:.

- Explain why we have finance regulations and where you can find them.

- Explain the importance of the finance planning cycle.

- Describe our main sources of income and how we use our resources.

Who should attend this course:

Staff who have some involvement in finance within the University and wish to gain an understanding of the bigger financial picture.
