About this course:

PLEASE NOTE: This session will be streamed live to colleagues at Penryn.

The session will examine the most pertinent topics in Higher Education.

The session will cover how we arrived where we are today and what universities do (teaching, research, enterprise) and how they are funded.

The session will also offer insight into how universities are responding to government policy, demographic shifts and the international picture.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will have:.

- Questioned the core business of Higher Education to consider the place of teaching, research and enterprise from the perspectives of people leading and delivering these areas.

- Expanded your perspective of the current and future leadership and management challenges in the sector.

- Deepened your understanding of how Higher Education works; its policies, practices and cultures.

This course is relevant to all colleagues new to the sector as well as current staff members who would like an update on the most pertinent topics in Higher Education.

It would be of particular use to:.

- Professional staff new to HE.

- New International Academic Staff.

- New Academic Staff who have come from outside HE, for example, from Industry.
