Rachel Brewer

Rachel joined the University in 2015, having previously worked in local government and more recently, the utilities sector. Her background covers a range of HR roles including recruitment, payroll and advisory work. Since 2007, Rachel has specialised in learning and development, working as an internal trainer/consultant, as well as undertaking extensive outreach work with schools and colleges to promote apprenticeships and STEM subjects.

Rachel is experienced in managing and delivering a wide range of training courses, focusing on leadership/management and personal development. She has been responsible for setting up/managing a number of accredited in-house development programmes with the Chartered Management Institute, Institute of Leadership and Management and other educational establishments. She has also supported previous employers in achieving national recognition for their apprenticeship schemes, being listed in the City and Guilds ‘Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers’.

Rachel is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), having completed the Institute’s Certificate in Training Practice and Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management. She is registered with the British Psychological Society as a qualified user of ability tests and personality profiles. She is also an accredited feedback provider for the Hay Group’s Emotional and Social Competency Inventory.
