About Peer Support

Peer Support gives you the opportunity to gain support and guidance in a relaxed, informal environment from higher year students who have been in the same position – whether in relation to academia (e.g. same module or discipline), or the transition to university life.

Students in higher years are trained to become 'Peer Mentors' and provide this support for their 'Mentees' by drawing on their previous experience. This process allows both Peer Mentors and Mentees to enhance their studies, enrich their educational experience and develop a wide range of skills.

There are Peer Support Programmes taking place across the University, and both staff and students can set up a programme. Each year we have over 400 Peer Mentors supporting 3000+ Mentees, creating learning communities within all colleges.
