Booking an appointment with the Psychological Therapies team

If you would like to speak to a qualified practitioner about something that is affecting your mental and emotional health, you can contact us to book a 20 minute drop-in. This is a short conversation where you will be able to outline your concerns to a practitioner and discuss best next steps. 

Please be aware that a drop-in is not suitable for urgent or emergency situations, and if you feel unsafe and/or feel you need more immediate support we would strongly recommend you follow the urgent support options available to you.

If you are presently studying abroad please let us know this when requesting a drop-in so we can book you into the most suitable appointment.

We offer a number of ‘on the day' drop-ins bookable daily between 9.15-3.30pm, Monday – Friday. These can be confirmed on the day be speaking to a member of the Wellbeing reception team.

These are available on a first come, first served basis.

You will be able to talk to a qualified wellbeing practitioner who will offer initial advice, support and (if relevant) an onward referral. The drop-in is usually up to 20 minutes and we ask students to complete a short form before the start of their consultation to help the practitioner understand what might be helpful for you.

Drop-in sessions are currently being run in person at Reed Mews Wellbeing Centre. You can either come along to the Reed Mews Wellbeing Centre reception to request a session or call 01392 724381 to confirm a time to attend. If all our drop-in consulations are booked or you are unable to attend that day, you can still book an online initial wellbeing appointment at a time that’s convenient to you. There is also 24/7 support available via Togetherall which can help if you're feeling stressed, anxious or low.

To speak to a qualified wellbeing practitioner about something that is affecting your mental and emotional health, you can book an initial online 20 minute appointment. This is a short conversation where you will be able to outline your concerns to a wellbeing practitioner who will offer initial advice, support and (if relevant) an onward referral. Your appointment will be on an online platform: your practitioner will share log-in details with you by email ahead of your appointment.

2)      Once you have completed the form, please check your emails for a link to book your appointment.

Please be advised appointments will be offered via video call unless telephone preference is stated, but you can choose to have your camera off if you would prefer.

We aim to offer an appointment within 3 working days of request, but please be aware that at busy times or where this doesn't fit with your timetable we cannot guarantee this, and we will work with you to agree a suitable time. There is always 24/7 support available via Togetherall which you can access online with your university email address.
