Canadian Centennial Scholarships Fund

About the award

The Canadian Centennial Scholarship Fund (CCSF) award competition opens on 10 January 2022.  Submissions are invited from Canadian students who are already pursuing full-time, multi-year postgraduate programmes in any field of study in the United Kingdom.  Around 14 awards of £5,000 will be made by the Trustees, including The Belle Shankman award for the Study of Arts. 

The CCSF celebrated its 50th year in 2017 and is proud to have awarded, since 1967, more than £1 million to over 600 talented Canadians studying across multiple disciplines from music, creative art and design to science (including health research and computing science), engineering, social science and the humanities.

Entry requirements

To qualify for a CCSF award, an applicant must:

  1. Be a Canadian citizen and have lived in Canada.
  2. Be currently enrolled full-time in a multi-year postgraduate programme and, at the time of application, be attending a UK university or similar institution, and have completed at least one full time term of study.
  3. Be able to demonstrate academic excellence.
  4. Require funds to complete your studies.

(Students undertaking a one-year programme commencing in the academic year 2021/22 are not eligible.)

The deadline for applications is 24:00 GMT on Friday 11 March 2022.  

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an online interview (Zoom) on either Monday 23 May 2022 or Tuesday 24 May 2022. If in person interviews are possible then they will be held at the Canadian High Commission in London on Tuesday 24 May 2022 for all applicants and attendance in person will be mandatory.
