Before you arrive
Visiting us
If you are in the UK and wish to visit the University, you can book onto one of our Open Days or Campus Tours. If you are unable to visit in person you can also see our Virtual Tours.
Booking accommodation
Unaccompanied, first-year international students studying for a full academic year are guaranteed an offer of University accommodation for the first year of their studies providing they return their application form and deposit by the deadline. The University has both fully catered halls of residence and self-catered flats and most study bedrooms have broadband and telephone connections. Applying for a Visa
Most international fee-paying students will need some form of visa to come to the UK. Find out what immigration permission you require on our International Student Support website.
When you arrive
Global Chums Mentoring
To help you settle into life at the University of Exeter, we are happy to invite you to join Global Chums. You will be matched with a student mentor who can help you settle in to life at Exeter, answer your questions and introduce you to societies, clubs and sports. It's the biggest mentoring scheme across our campuses with over 300 students participating every year.

English language support
The INTO Centre in Exeter and Academic Skills Service in Cornwall offer a range of in-sessional classes, workshops and tutorials free of charge for students.
Representing your views
The Students’ Guild in Exeter and The SU in Cornwall each coordinate a variety of clubs and societies including international students’ societies in both Exeter and Cornwall along with a number of other societies representing different ethnic, nationality or language groups. These can be a great way to make new friends and learn about other cultures. See our Societies page for more details.
Religious provision
Followers of the main religious faiths will find a place to worship close by or on the campus. Muslim students have their own Prayer Rooms on the Streatham Campus with separate facilities for both men and women. Our Multi-faith Chaplaincies in Exeter and Cornwall provide a welcoming and supportive environment for students and staff of all faiths.
