The Haventree Bank Scholarship is made possible thanks to the generosity of alumnus Michael Jones (Economics, 1974) and The W. Garfield Weston Foundation.

Successful applicants will receive between £3000 and £6000 depending on their duration of stay at the University of Exeter.


This scholarship is eligible to exchange students from the following partner universities studying at least 50% of their modules at the University of Exeter at the Business School:

  • Personal Statement (minimum of 500 words in pfd format)
    • How do you feel this experience will shape your personal development and future plans, and what would you do to ensure you made the most of this opportunity?
  • Most recent transcript (minimum 3.0 GPA)
  • Supporting letter from Study Abroad Advisor
  • Evidence of financial need
    • Can be a confirmation letter from Student Loans Officer, Enrolment Services, Award Office

Students may be eligible to apply for a BUTEX Scholarship. These are worth £500 and are for students studying abroad for a semester or an academic year. Check the website for more details.

Talented athletes could be eligible to apply for the UoE Sports Scholarship Scheme - one of the most prestigious in the UK - helping the best student athletes reach their full potential. The scheme provides a comprehensive support package and is tailored to suit the needs of each individual athlete.

The Sports Scholarships are worth up to £2000 and are available to the most outstanding student athletes who show evidence of achievement at national or international level, primarily awarded to those competing in our Focus Sports. Sports Bursaries for 2019/20 are available for students of outstanding sporting ability who show evidence of achievement at national level and above or those that show potential to compete at national level. Bursaries are only awarded to those applicants who have gained a place for a Falmouth University or the University of Exeter Cornwall Campus course.

Bursaries of up to £2,000 may be awarded to an individual. Each application will be considered on an individual basis, taking into consideration the chosen sport, achievements to date, selection process, league structure and sporting aspirations.

 The funding can be used towards legitimate costs incurred to train or compete in your chosen sport, including the following:

  • Competition entry fees
  • Gym membership
  • Travel and accommodation to competitions
  • Essential sports equipment and clothing
  • Facility fees
  • Physiotherapy
  • Sports Psychologist fees
  • Health & Nutritional Advice (Health MOT assessment)
