Scholarships

The Haventree Bank Scholarship is made possible thanks to the generosity of alumnus Michael Jones (Economics, 1974) and The W. Garfield Weston Foundation.

Successful applicants will receive between £3000 and £6000 depending on their duration of stay at the University of Exeter.

 

This scholarship is eligible to exchange students from the following universities studying at least 50% of their modules at the University of Exeter Business School or the Computer Science department in the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences:

  • Personal Statement (minimum of 500 words)
    • How do you feel this experience will shape your personal development and future plans, and what would you do to ensure you made the most of this opportunity?
  • Most recent transcript (minimum 3.0 GPA)
  • Supporting letter from Study Abroad Advisor
  • Evidence of financial need
    • This can be a confirmation letter from a Student Loans Officer, Enrolment Services, Award Office

Students may be eligible to apply for a BUTEX Scholarship. These are worth £500 and are for students studying abroad for a semester or an academic year. Check the website for more details.

Talented athletes could be eligible to apply for the UoE Sports Scholarship Scheme - one of the most prestigious in the UK - helping the best student athletes reach their full potential. The scheme provides a comprehensive support package and is tailored to suit the needs of each individual athlete.

The Sports Scholarships are worth up to £3000 and are available to the most outstanding student athletes who show evidence of achievement at national or international level, primarily awarded to those competing in our Focus Sports. Students may also be eligible for a High Performance Bursary worth up to £500. For eligibility and how to apply see the Sports Scholarships Scheme pages.

Sports bursaries are available for students of outstanding sporting ability who show evidence of achievement at national level and above, or those that show potential to compete at national level. 

Bursaries of up to £3000 may be awarded to an individual. Each application will be considered on an individual basis, taking into consideration the chosen sport, achievements to date, selection process, league structure and sporting aspirations.

The funding can be used towards legitimate costs incurred to train or compete in your chosen sport, including the following:

  • Competition entry fees
  • Gym membership
  • Travel and accommodation to competitions
  • Essential sports equipment and clothing
  • Facility fees
  • Physiotherapy
  • Sports Psychologist fees
  • Health & Nutritional Advice (Health MOT assessment)

The US-Exeter Exchange Travel Scholarship is open to high academic achieving US exchange students to support travel costs to the UK.

Global Opportunities is pleased to offer the Exeter Adventures Scholarship. This award of £500 is to spent towards expenses incurred during the exchange period. We require all successful recipients to hold a UK bank account. The scholarship will be awarded to the recipient upon arrival and registration at Exeter. Successful recipients will be required to provide a profile later in the semester.
