Students in a lecture theatre

Students on residentials use lecture theatres on campus

Information for parents/carers

Safety and supervision

Both the academic and social sessions will be fully risk assessed before your child/guardian arrives at the University.

There is a medical centre on campus and first aiders are on call 24 hours a day. Throughout the residential, all the students will be accompanied by University of Exeter Students Ambassadors and members of staff who are there to answer questions, sort out problems and generally help out and make the week enjoyable.

Transport

You will be asked to provide details of your required travel when booking. A member of Student Recruitment staff will be in contact to confirm arrangements.

Food

All special diets will be catered for, but we require notification in advance. Please ensure that you have indicated any special requirements when booking. If you haven't, then please contact us as soon as possible.

Accommodation

Students will be given their own room in a hall of residence on campus. Male and females are strictly segregated and will be supervised by staff and Student Ambassadors overnight. Please note that students are not allowed to share rooms whilst on the residential.

How to contact students in an emergency

If you need to contact a student urgently during the residential please call the residential mobile on 07909723168. This number should only be used during the hours of the residential. If you have any queries before the residential, please visit the contacts page for details on how to get in touch.

Code of conduct

Before coming to the residential, students are asked to read and sign up to a code of conduct form.

This is used to ensure that students know how to behave whilst staying at the residential, in a manner which will ensure their safety and that of others. No discriminatory language or behaviour will be tolerated. Students who are in serious breach of this code may be asked to leave. If this is the case then we will contact parents/guardians so they can make arrangements to collect the student.

Medical conditions and special requirements

If you have not already advised us of any special medical conditions or dietary requirements please contact us as soon as possible.
