The University is justifiably proud  that the majority of the targets set out in the original 10 year sustainable travel plan (2007 - 2017) were achieved in the first 3 years and we have seen a significant shift towards more sustainable travel choices amongst our staff and students

Travelling by rail

Exeter has two mainline railway stations - Exeter St David's and Exeter Central. The Streatham campus is a 15 minute walk from St David's station and 20 minutes from Exeter Central station. The walking route is signed from St David's' station and the campus map shows the walking route.

Interest-free loan

For employees who travel to and from the campuses by train regularly, the University can provide an interest-free loan for the purchase of an annual rail season ticket, subject to certain conditions. To view the conditions, and to apply, complete the PD16 form.

Rail cards

There are a number of railcard options available to help save you money on train travel:

  • 16-25 Young Person's Railcard - save 1/3 on rail fares throughout the UK.
  • Network Railcard - save 1/3 on rail fares for journeys in the Railcard Area.

Shuttle bus

Staff and students who travel between the Exeter campuses and St David's Railway Station are able to use the free shuttle bus service during peak hours.

Services run throughout the year, except for bank holidays and closure days. View the full timetable for more information.
