International Women's Day Week

We are delighted to announce that we are holding our annual International Women’s Day event on Wednesday 8th March on the Streatham Campus at the University of Exeter for students in Year 10-13. International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and call to action for accelerating sex and gender equality. The theme for 2023 is #EmbraceEquity:

"We can all truly embrace equity. It's not just something we say. It's not just something we write about. It's something we need to think about, know, and embrace. It's what we believe in, unconditionally. Equity means creating a fair and equal world."

With an exciting programme and line-up of speakers, panels and sessions, it is a fantastic opportunity to bring students to campus for the day – spaces are limited so early booking is strongly advised. For all enquiries about our on-campus International Women's Day and/or to receive a school/college group booking form, please contact Melissa Barrett at subjectoutreach@exeter.ac.uk

Teacher feedback from last year's event includes "Fantastic day. Amazing to hear such a range of inspirational engaging women", "Thought provoking, well-organised and challenging", and "Each session was linked to the curriculum and has widened my students' understanding and developed their engagement with the subject".

This event will be useful for and of particular interest to students studying (or interested in studying) Sociology, Politics, Law, Criminology, English, Drama, and Performing Arts

Please note that school eligibility criteria may apply for this event
