Law

To study Law as a major subject FCH, you must take a minimum of 105 credits in Law modules across the second and final stages (depending on the other subject(s) taken, this would either be named first in the degree title, or second with an "and" in the title).

You must have studied at least 30 credits of law at stage 1 to study law as a major subject at second and final stages.

You may study a maximum of 60 credits of law at each stage of your degree, up to a total of 180 credits over the whole degree programme.

Qualifications from the FCH Law Pathway:

If you are studying Law as a major subject on the FCH Law Pathway, you will receive a non-qualifying BA/BSc degree and cannot be awarded a qualifying LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree. You may not transfer into the qualifying LLB (Bachelor of Laws) Law with Business Degree programmes in your second year. You may, however, transfer into the non-qualifying BBL (Bachelor of Business and Laws) degree programme subject to the consent of both the Directors of Education for Law and for Business. If you are studying law as a major subject on the FCH law Pathway, and have the maximum 180 credits in law in your degree, you may decide that you have the necessary knowledge and skills take the first of two stages of the new Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE1) directly after your degree and prepare for the second stage (SQE2) to become a solicitor in England and Wales.

To study Law as a major subject FCH, you must take a minimum of 105 credits in Law modules across the second and final stages (depending on the other subject(s) taken, this would either be named first in the degree title, or second with an "and" in the title).
