Impact & Partnership Development Manager - Emerging & Enabling Technologies

Conrad is the Impact & Partnership Development Manager (IPDM) for ‘Emerging & Enabling Technologies’.
His primary focus is helping innovative organisations to develop and commercialise ‘Emerging & Enabling Technologies’ arising from our pioneering scientific research, including:
• Graphene & 2D Materials
• Synthetic Biology
• Internet of Things (IoT)
• Communication Networks (5G)
Conrad engages with a wide range of relevant beneficiaries, to build robust strategic collaborations across industry and academia, develop technological opportunities for impact, and support the UK Government ‘Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund’ (ISCF) initiatives, in order to help underpin the future of UK industry.
He joined the University in April 2017, previously as the IPDM for Data Science.
Prior to joining the University, Conrad was the ‘Innovation & Data Services Manager’ for South West Water, where he supervised three business improvement teams developing and implementing innovative, data-driven technical solutions (including drone aerial surveying services). Conrad was also ‘Project & Quality Assurance Manager’ for Moneycorp Group, and ‘CAD Project Manager’ for Specsavers Optical Group.
Outside of work he enjoys surfing, photography, snowboarding, drones and stand-up paddleboarding.
