Capital projects

Throughout our history, philanthropists have donated funds to establish facilities across our campuses, from the Washington Singer science building in the first part of the 20th century to the Mireille Gillings Neuroimaging Centre some 100 years later.

That prospect continues today, with opportunities to co-invest with the University into planned facilities for engineering, our libraries and the public realm.

Construction is underway currently for the Al Qasimi Building – a new £30 million teaching and research facility funded philanthropically by alumnus His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah.
