Undergraduate Research Showcase 2023

The 2023 Undergraduate Research Showcase took place from Monday 23rd to Friday 27th January 2023. 

Research was showcased online on our SharePoint exhibition and in-person at Streatham, St Lukes' and Penryn campuses during the week. Exhibitions were found at the following locations: 

  • Forum Street, Streatham 

  • G48, St Lukes' 

  • ESI Café, Penryn 

We also hosted two launch receptions, one on Streatham and one on Penryn, featuring a keynote speech and student presentations.  

This year's winners 

Congratulations to everyone whose work was exhibited in the 2023 UGRS and a big well done to the winners: 

Winning poster entry: Amy Stokes, “AI in Pathology: A Medical Student's AI Assisted Crash Course in Diagnostic Histopathology of Large Bowel” 

Winning abstract entry: Hannah Grocutt, “Foreign body detection utilising ultrasound and general radiography: a phantom based study employing a survey.” 

Winning video entry: Bethan Horscroft-Preest, “Are Eurasian Oystercatchers tempted by the risky prey on the Exe estuary?” 

“Most Popular Entry”: Nel Williams’ poster entry, “The effects of dietary nitrate and sulphate-rich apple co-ingestion on blood pressure and prolonged sprint performance”.
