In addition to all the great online resources available on the careers webpage and through My Career Zone, printed literature and face-to-face support is also available at the Career Zone. Please feel free to drop in at the Career Zone in the Forum on Streatham Campus or in the Exchange on the Penryn campus. Alternatively you can ask a question online via My Career Zone or phone us on 01392 724493 (Exeter) or 01326 253735 (Cornwall).

I am ready to apply for further study

Whether you know what further study you want to go on to, or need help deciding the best path for you, our Choosing postgraduate study webpage has a wealth of information to help you make an informed decision.

I have been applying for opportunities and so far I have not been successful

Unfortunately it is a very competitive market out there but it is important not to get disheartened; it may be the case that you just need a small tweak here and there to tip you over the edge. Our careers team offer some great support around the keys skill required to achieve your dream job. Please have a look at our job application section of our website for resources around Application forms, CVs and covering letters, Interviews, Psychometric testing and Assessment centres. Although there is a wealth of literature on our website and through My Career Zone, please don’t be afraid to pop in to your local Career Zone for a face-to-face chat with one of our team to see where you might need some help.

I have already secured a graduate job, postgraduate study/research or business start-up opportunity

Congratulations! Now that you have secured employment or postgraduate study, be sure to self-promote via your LinkedIn account, which will help with future career progression. If you want any support or advice around making the most out of your LinkedIn profile, there are online webinars, LinkedIn lab workshop, and one-to-one appointments available, all bookable via My Career Zone.

Finally, please remember that the University of Exeter’s career service is available to alumni 3 years after graduating.
