Music is a great way to relax, socialise and meet people. Music stimulates the mind, body and spirit as almost no other activity can. Taking an active part in Music improves concentration, co-ordination and teamwork.

The University of Exeter is duly proud of the dynamic and varied musical life on campus and there is no better way of getting involved during your time here than by joining one of the many student-run Music Societies, which cater for everyone from absolute beginners to seasoned performers. Our students are passionate about their music and devote many hours of their free time to join together and perform, not just on campus, but across Exeter and the UK. Many of the societies have annual concert tours and enjoy performing across Europe.

We have some first-rate practice facilities, including rooms for personal and group rehearsal and an Amplified Band Practice Room that's open 24/7. Our Sound Studio has professional standard equipment and our larger performance spaces are fully equipped with modern performance lighting.

If you enjoy listening to a wealth of music, you are more than welcome to simply come along to a concert as a much-appreciated audience member!
