Professor adds to Health Economics expertise at Exeter

Professor Claire Hulme has joined the University of Exeter Medical School from the Leeds Institute of Health Sciences where she was Head of the Academic Unit of Health Economics. A Professor of Health Economics, her interests are largely related to complex interventions.

Professor Hulme said: “I am really looking forward to joining the Health Economics Group at such an exciting time – the expansion of the Medical School offers so many opportunities with Health Economics at the core of health services research.”

Her current research projects include: a trial evaluation to determine the clinical and cost effectiveness of a home-based exercise intervention as Extended Rehabilitation for older people with frailty; a systematic review of the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of digital supportive interventions for people with incurable cancer; personalised care planning to improve quality of life for older people with frailty.
