Our departments

We organise our academic and administrative departments into Academic Schools and Professional Services.

Academic Schools

The University's academic departments and research centres are arranged into Schools, some of which cover a single discipline, for example Biosciences, and some of which cover several inter-related disciplines, for example Arts, Languages and Literatures. Each School has its own website and you can access these via the Schools list on this page.

Schools are made up of subject departments, and you can access these sections of School websites through our separate Subject departments list. Schools also contain a variety of related research centres. See our directory of Research centres and institutes to access the websites for these.

Professional Services

Our administrative departments are grouped into six Professional Services, which provide services and facilities to staff, students and other clients.
