On graduation day
Your graduation day in Exeter
Your ceremony will take place in the Great Hall on Streatham Campus and will last aproximately 90 minutes. During the ceremony the Chancellor will present you with your degree on stage.
Every graduand will be allocated 2 guest tickets which can be ordered when registration opens. Further guest tickets may become available subject to uptake. You will be allocated a specific seat with your tickets.
Guests will be allocated seating in the front half of the Great Hall Main Auditorium or on the Great Hall Balcony area. Every ceremony will be filmed and will be available to watch live via this website and on large screens in designated lecture theatres on campus.
Don’t forget to collect your food and drink tokens, after you collect your gown, from the table near the robing area. Your email ticket pack will need to be shown before the tokens can be issued.
A free reception for you and your guests will be held in the Forum Street following your ceremony. This typically lasts for 90 minutes and includes complimentary refreshments and live music.
What to wear
All graduands will need to wear full academic dress on the day of graduation which can be hired once registration opens. You will need to collect your robes from a designated point on campus before your ceremony. You will also be required to wear smart clothes and are advised not to wear jeans or trainers. Please wear appropriate footwear for walking up and down the stage steps.
Guests are advised to dress as if they are going to a formal occasion.
Various campus shops and outlets will be open on the day serving food and beverages.
An official photography service will be available on the day of graduation. You are welcome to visit them at any time on your graduation day, though to avoid large queues we recommend that you visit before your ceremony.
