The University of Exeter directly and indirectly employs nearly 5,000 people. It pumps £250m a year into the local economy, with a turnover of over £170m in 2007/08 and £200m predicted by 2009.
The University aims to be an 'employer of choice', providing support, recognition and reward for our staff. It attracts many people – locally and from further afield. Over half of all University employees are covered by the recognised Investors in People Award.
In the 2007 Staff Survey 93% of staff said that Exeter was a good place to work and 87% reported high levels of motivation. Both scores are much higher than other universities.
