Publication of recorded information

As a data controller and public authority the University of Exeter is obliged to respond to requests for information under applicable legislation. This includes but is not limited to the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act and UK General Data Protection Regulation.

What this means

All information recorded in any form during the course of University business or recorded on University systems may be requested by interested parties. All staff and users of University systems should be mindful of these obligations when recording information.

Addition guidance is available for meeting recordings and related content.

Exemptions

Not all information is suitable for disclosure. Every request is reviewed by the Information Governance Team who will work with individuals who hold requested information to ensure appropriate exemptions are in place to protect individuals, the University and our partners. However, all exemptions must be justified and are reviewed by the DPO / Information Governance Manager.
