Machine Learning for Earth Observation Conference

We are pleased to invite you to join us at the ML4EO 2025 Conference

This three-day conference will be held at the University of Exeter (Streatham Campus) Wednesday the 18th of June till Friday 20th of June 2025

Event details

Abstract

Objectives

Advances in remote sensing have shifted the paradigm of Earth observation from data scarcity to data abundance, offering enormous potential for economic, environmental, and social benefits. Artificial intelligence and machine learning present new opportunities to harness this data, enabling automated extraction of insights, trend predictions, and identification of key environmental and policy factors. AI/ML also brings increasing challenges related to data governance, ethics and responsible applications.

Building on the success of the two previous workshops, this three-day conference will bring together experts and practitioners from remote sensing, data science, and industry to reflect on the state of the art in remote sensing and identify the most promising directions for future innovation. Hosted at the University of Exeter, the event welcomes participants from academia, the public sector, and industry, at all career stages, to create a vibrant research community. Attendees can look forward to keynotes, oral and poster presentations, panel discussions with industry leaders, a conference dinner, and training workshops on cutting edge skills and hands-on AI/ML for EO practice.

Together, we will:

  • Share scientific discoveries, good practice, and industry perspectives
  • Explore emerging applications and new opportunities for remote sensing and machine learning
  • Foster collaborations, build networks, share opportunities and provide hands-on training

Participation

There are several different ways to participate in this event:

  • Attend the conference as a delegate
  • Oral presentation (e.g. 10 mins + 5 mins discussion)
  • Poster presentation (with an option for flash talks, ideal for preliminary results or ‘works in progress’)
  • Chairing/contributing to a thematic discussion session
