Apply to be a postgraduate facilitator

The success of Grand Challenges is highly dependent upon the staff and students that work to make it happen. Every year, we employ postgraduate students to help in the running of Grand Challenges week. As a postgraduate facilitator, you will act as the first point of contact for the students in your specific challenge, helping them to get the most from the week.

You will introduce them to a ‘research-led’ style of learning and encourage them throughout the week in their projects, allowing them to maximise on this educational experience.

Prior to the week, you will work with top University researchers and renowned external experts, helping to organise the week and an exciting timetable for the students. You will then help to plan, guide and manage a group during the week, facilitating the success of their projects.

Grand Challenges will also help to develop your own skills. The week is hands on and high energy, hence time management and organisational skills will be required. Training sessions will teach you how to motivate and support small groups and the experience of the week will enhance your interpersonal skills and give you the opportunity to create new networks.

All University of Exeter postgraduate students are eligible to apply for the role, and the online application cycle will be open from 13th January - 17th February.
