Entry requirements

The information below will allow you to check qualifications from your country or territory to see if they may be accepted for entry to the University of Exeter, and the equivalent grades required. Our course pages contain typical entry requirements that are commonly held by UK applicants. You can find out details on our English language requirements here.

Undergraduate entry requirements for students from Indonesia

A typical offer falls within the range AAA–ABB for A Level or IB Diploma 36- 30 or HL666- HL555 subject-specific requirements may be applicable, depending on the programme of study for which you apply. 

If you have achieved good grades in the Indonesian School system (National Curriculum or National Plus) you will need to take a foundation programme, such as one of our International Study Centre International Foundation courses at Exeter's Streatham Campus, to be eligible for entry onto an undergraduate course. 

Students who have completed either bachelor’s degree (Year 1 of 4), S1 or Diploma II or III, we can consider accepting onto Year 1 or 2 - Exeter UG programmes (Year 2 providing all modules studies in previous qualification matches). Contact the International Office for more details.

Postgraduate entry requirements for students from Indonesia

Postgraduate Taught

For direct entry onto our Masters programmes you will be required to have successfully completed a Sarjana 1 (S1) (4 years) from a recognised institution from Indonesia depending on the BAN- PT accreditation. We can accept Grade A (Unggul) and Grade B (Baik Sekali) accredited Universities in Indonesia.

Postgraduate Research

PhD study applicants should normally have studied to at least master’s level (S2) with a minimum CGPA 3.0/4.0 (Depending on the PhD degrees applied).

Agent representatives

The University of Exeter has agreements with independent representatives in your country, who would be pleased to tell you more about the University's programmes and assist you in making an application. Most of our representatives offer their services to applicants for free. Those that do charge a fee must make this clear from the outset of their consultation with students and issue appropriate receipts. If you have any concerns about whether an agent is an authorised representative of the University of Exeter, please contact us. These scholarships help make sure aspiring students from this country can pursue their studies. There are scholarships available for January 2026 entry and September 2026 entry.
