Malcolm Williams

Malcolm is an Honorary Professor in the Institute and Emeritus Professor of Social Statistics at Cardiff University.  He joined ICS in March 2022 and helped to set up the Social and Economic Research Unit (SERU) His research in SERU has mostly been in housing affordability and the relationship between housing and the Cornish economy. He also teaches continuing professional development courses on behalf of the Institute.  Malcolm is a fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences and has researched and written extensively on the methodology and philosophy of the social sciences.  His most recent book is Realism and Complexity in Social Sciences, Sage, 2021.
