Aquatic Resources Centre

The Aquatic Resources Centre (ARC) provides a world-class teaching and research facility containing 14 aquaria rooms, analytical labs and a dedicated Wolfson Foundation-funded imaging unit. Research taking place in the ARC includes understanding biological systems and  studying aspects of human health, from modelling human disease processes through to drug development.

Bioimaging Centre

The Bioimaging Centre is a research facility within the School of Biosciences that provides state-of-the-art optical, laser and electron microscopes to enable advanced cellular imaging techniques across the breadth of biological research.

Biomedical Informatics Hub

The Wellcome Trust Biomedical Informatics Hub is a dedicated team of data experts in bioinformatics, image analysis, computing and statistics, who provide analytical support for biomedical research and a range of training.

Centre for Cytomics

Our flow cytometry technology platform provides the next generation of cytometry systems for quantitative single cell research. This includes cutting-edge flow cytometry analysis (acoustic, spectral, imaging), BSLII cell sorting, multiplexing and complex data analysis.

Clinical Research Facility

The NIHR Exeter Clinical Research Facility (NIHR Exeter CRF) improves patient care by increasing understanding of the causes of disease and improving diagnosis and treatment. Facilities include bespoke wards and consulting rooms, sample handling laboratories and specialist equipment for investigating exercise, physiology and metabolism. The facility is run in partnership with the Royal Devon and Exeter Trust.

Cyro-EM

We use our GW4 alliance state-of-the-art electron cryo-microscope for high resolution cyro-microscopy and analysis. It is based at the South West regional facility for Cyro-EM at University of Bristol.

Greenhouse facilities

With a total footprint of 375m2, the greenhouse facilities meet a large variety of research needs. The greenhouse facilities supports research based around cellular and chemical biology, environmental biology and microbes and diseases.
