Exeter's new partnership with Arix Bioscience to boost South West Healthcare ventures

The University of Exeter has secured a significant collaboration with a leading global healthcare company that could provide a funding boost to pioneering medical innovations across the South West.

The new partnership agreement with Arix Bioscience plc could see businesses across the region benefit from access to capital to support innovative advances in healthcare and medicine.

Exeter is one of a small, exclusive group of world-leading organisations to enter into partnership with Arix, which  listed on the London Stock Exchange this year.

The important partnership with Exeter could provide a significant boost of the South West economy, by creating new businesses and highly-skilled jobs across the region linked to medical innovation and advances.

The South West has a burgeoning reputation for advances in healthcare, including at Exeter’s prestigious and world-leading Medical School.

Speaking about the partnership Sean Fielding, Director of Innovation, Impact and Business for the University of Exeter, said: “The University plays an important role supporting high-growth sectors in the South West economy, and our relationship with Arix provides access to the significant pools of capital necessary to stimulate innovation and growth in medical technologies.

“We hope that this partnership will enable businesses in Devon and Cornwall, and beyond, to become global players in the healthcare market of the future.”
