Professorial pay - key features

  • The University has 3 pay bands for Professors: Band 1, Band 2 and Band 3
  • There are pay points at roughly 3% intervals within Band 1 and Band 2; there are no stipulated points within Band 3
  • Professors continue to receive national (JNCHES) general increases, in line with current practice
  • The University conducts a biennial Professorial Salary Review.
  • Progression within each Band will not be assumed; rather, it will require evidence of sustained high levels of performance, demonstrated in the biennial reviews
  • In appropriate circumstances, market supplements and other forms of supplements and allowances may be paid.
