*Update on Professional Pathways programme*:

The University remains committed to ensuring the safety of both students and staff and those working with us. We recently cancelled all scheduled student assessment centres due to there being no events on campus until 31 May 2020 at the earliest. After much consideration, we have regrettably decided to also cancel the training programme element of the Pathways programme, scheduled to take place in June, the week before the students would have completed their internship week. With the current ongoing situation around COVID-19 and the uncertainty surrounding when we will be back on campus and also when students will be conducting their exams remotely, this was unfortunately our only option.

We received the highest ever number of applications across the Pathways programmes this year and we are keen for these students to still have the opportunity to gain some value from this year’s programme, particularly for those who are in their final year or who have lost part-time work due to COVID-19. With this in mind, we are looking to advertise a range of remote-working roles to the shortlisted students which they would then need to apply for by submitting a cover letter. If you could do with extra help during these challenging times and would be able to offer work, on a remote-working basis, please see further details below. The role would be fully-funded by the University for 35 hours so we would manage all aspects of payroll including obtaining Right to Work. The timing of the internship is also now more flexible and can be undertaken in any pattern to suit your needs between mid-May and the end of June 2020. If you have any questions regarding this, please get in touch with the team at Please be aware that during these exceptional circumstances, there may be a delay in the team responding to enquiries and we thank you in advance for your patience.

Professional Pathways programmes offer employers the opportunity to work with motivated University of Exeter students keen to start their careers in their chosen sector:

In the current COVID-19 climate, we understand this is a really challenging time for employers and are therefore keen to offer some measure of support at this time. If you are an employer who feels you could benefit from having this support and could offer an internship or discrete project for a student to undertake, we'd love to hear from you. The role will need to be remote-working and should involve 35 hours of work which can take place any time between mid-May to the end of June 2020. This could be part-time over a number of weeks or a week-long, full-time position.

Please note, employer applications for Professional Pathways 2020 have now closed.
