We host a number of careers fairs throughout the academic year. They provide a fantastic opportunity for you to connect with our talented and ambitious students.  Careers fairs that we deliver are open to University of Exeter students of any degree, year group or campus location. They're designed to enable you to promote your internships, placements, graduate roles, training contracts and further study opportunities. They are extensively marketed to all our students and in some cases timetabled to maximise attendance.

We are currently planning for our 24-25 academic year of careers fairs, more information will be added below as details are confirmed.

Careers & Opportunities Fair - 16th October 2024 

We are delighted to be hosting our all-student careers fair on Wednesday 16thOctober 2024 on the Penryn Campus. The fair will be open to exhibitors from any sector looking to promote theirinternships, placements, graduate roles and schemes, part-time jobs and postgraduate study opportunities.We are excited to welcome you to our campus to engage with our students. 

The disciplines taught at Penryn include: 

  • Physical and Human Geography 

  • Environmental Science 

  • Marine Science 

  • Conservation and Ecology, Zoology, Marine Biology and Animal Behaviour 

  • Sustainable Development 

  • Renewable Energy Engineering 

  • Applied Data Science and Maths 

  • Camborne School of Mines specialising in Mining Engineering, Geology and Surveying 

  • History, Politics and International Relations 

  • Business 

  • LLB Law with Business 

You will also find students from Falmouth University attending the fair as we share a campus with them. We encourage early consideration of career pathways and you can expect those in the first year through to their final year to attend. Our graduates are also welcome. 

Booking is now open via our Handshake platform, if you don’t already have an organisation profile on Handshake you will first need to create one. The profile you create will automatically form part of the Careers and Opportunities Fair online brochure, hosted on Handshake for our students to browse in advance of the fair. We recommend you use high quality images and include a good description of your organisation and the opportunities you offer to ensure a professional profile is available to students.

Most companies are eligible for our standard rate of £110+VAT except where special rates apply (please see below).     

Reduced Rate - £55+VAT - Local Government, SME and Not for Profit (Includes LEA’s, Unions, Associations, Professional Bodies and other HEI’s and companies with fewer than 250 employees.) 

Charity Rate - Free - Registered charities recruiting to own organisation for paid positions. This fair is not suitable for volunteering opportunities. If you would like to promote volunteering opportunities, the Student Union can support you. 

Due to high demand for this event we recommend submitting this booking form promptly.

Please note we limit the number of spaces available to recruitment agencies and jobs portals. Limited spaces are available for those who are eligible for our discounted rates and are allocated at our discretion. 

The charges include: 

  • A stand space 

  • 1 table and 2 chairs 

  • WiFi access 

  • A pasty for lunch for each exhibitor (meat, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available) 

  • Tea, coffee and water throughout the day 

  • 1 parking space 

  • An electrical point may be available, please indicate if you need this in the booking form and we will do our best to accommodate 

The fair will take place in the Sports Hall, Penryn Campus, Penryn, Cornwall, TR10 9FE. The event will be open to students from 11:00 to 14:00. 

Access to the Sports Hall is from 09:30 to 15:00 with parking available next to the building. Staff helpers will be available throughout these times to assist you with set up and take down of your stand if needed. 

If you have any accessibility requirements, please include these in your booking form or email the team at es-penryn@exeter.ac.uk to discuss how we can best host you on the day. 

If you wish to make special arrangements for the delivery and/or collection of materials for the fair in advance of the event, please email the team on es-penryn@exeter.ac.uk. All materials delivered on the day should be accompanied by a contractor or representative from the exhibiting company as we are unable to sign for material delivered by couriers or manage the receipt of any unaccompanied deliveries on the day of the fair. 

All deliveries are the responsibility of the exhibitingorganisation. The University of Exeter cannot accept responsibility for any loss of, or damage to, items that are delivered to campus. It is the responsibility of the exhibitors to ensure that any goods for collection are packaged and labelled accordingly. Items must be collected no later than 15:00 on the day of the fair. 

Payments will be taken via invoice once the fair has taken place.

Please provide us with accurate information so our finance department can successfully invoice. If this is your first time working with us, you will need to complete a supplier form which our team will email to you before the fair.

Failure to provide accurate invoicing details in time may result in an additional processing fee of £30.

You will be charged the full cost of the fair if you cancel your booking after Wednesday 25th September. Bookings made after this date will also be fully payable if cancelled. Cancellations need to be made in writing to es-penryn@exter.ac.uk. 

Failure to attend the fair, regardless of reason, will result in the full charge being levied.

Part-Time Jobs Fair 2025 - Date to be confirmed (January/February 2025)

The Penryn Campus Part-Time Jobs Fair is marketed to University of Exeter and Falmouth University students from all years and disciplines based at our Penryn Campus. 

Here you can meet and talk informally with students about your part-time jobs and seasonal work, but also consider internship programmes, placements, and graduate careers where relevant. 

Ecology, Conservation & Environment Fair 2025 - Date to be confirmed (February/March 2025)

Connecting organisations with students studying Ecology, Conservation, Geography, Marine and Environmental Science on the Penryn campus.
