Careers and Opportunities Fair 2023

Wednesday 16th October 2024, 11:00 - 14:00, The Sports Hall, Penryn Campus

On the 16th October we will be hosting our next Careers and Opportunities Fair on the Penryn Campus!

The fair will be held in the Sports Hall and will host over 40 employers. We'll be welcoming a diverse range of organisations representing a variety of sectors. Employers attend to promote graduate vacancies, internships, placements, part-time work and postgraduate courses. The list of employers attending is available and regularly updated on Handshake (see below for more information). Be sure to save the date!

All University of Exeter students are welcome regardless of year of study, subject or campus. The fair is also open to graduates and Falmouth University students.

Please note, the first half hour of the fair from 11:00 - 11:30am will be a ‘quiet half hour’ to allow students with additional needs to more easily access the fair. Please attend this session only if you require the quiet half hour, there is no need to book for it. If you don't need a quieter environment to enjoy the the fair, please come along from 11:30am - 2:00pm.

Prepare for the fair

To help you prepare, the Career Zone deliver 'Prepare for the Fair' sessions ahead of major fairs which you can book onto in Handshake. Any new sessions being delivered will be listed in Handshake once the dates are confirmed.

You can also find resources on the Career Zone website to help you get the most out of the fair and you could attend a Career Zone workshop on other aspects of career preparation such as networking using LinkedIn. You can book onto a workshop in the events section of Handshake.

How to attend

To attend the fair you can simply turn up on the day!

Using Handshake before and during the fair

If you have never used Handshake before you will need to activate your account and log in. You will receive emails about activating your account and completing your preloaded profile.

To log in and complete your profile please visit https://exeter.joinhandshake.co.uk.

If you haven't activated your account yet, when prompted select the 'single sign on' option and follow the on-screen instructions. 

If you have any problems activating your account and viewing the fair's employer list, please contact us at careers@exeter.ac.uk, ideally with a screenshot showing the error.

Photography

Please note that photographs will be taken at this event for marketing and training purposes. We intend to use the images, where appropriate, in our promotional material. This may take the form of entries on the University's website, in emails and printed and digital media to highlight to other students, prospective students, employers, staff and other stakeholders the activities organised by the Employer Engagement team.
