There are multiple ways for you to complete the Exeter Award. We've put together several Exeter Award Themes to illustrate the variety of sessions that you can attend. You can use these themes to capitalise on the activities you are already involved with, or they can be used to test a career idea or to explore a sector further. The below themes are suggestions and are not prescriptive; you can choose to do elements from different themes.

‌Careers in the environmental and sustainability sector are becoming increasingly popular. Here you can have a huge impact on the bottom line of organisations by reducing waste, changing consumer purchasing habits, impact energy consumption, and researching new technology to increase efficiency and influence strategy. Sustainability also covers sustainable working practices such as workforce resilience, wellbeing and corporate social responsibility. You can find out more on the Sustainability webpages.

Whether you are taking an entrepreneurship module or simply wishing to enhance your employability, the new Exeter Award entrepreneurship theme offers you a way to get University recognition for your extracurricular entrepreneurship activities. We see entrepreneurship as an individual's ability to  turn ideas into actions that generate value for others and results in viable value creation projects, this includes startup entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship (entrepreneurship within an organisation).

The Startup Pre-Incubator Programme is designed to support you in taking those first steps in your entrepreneurial journey. Our 8-week programme includes core foundation workshops, inspirational speaker events and masterclasses. There will be demo events introducing you to the wider Exeter ecosystem and you will have the opportunity to pitch for Market Validation funding of up to £500 to test the viability of your idea. To find out more visit the Pre-Incubator Programme webpage. This is a guide to provide you with examples on the options you can choose to do and is not prescriptive.‌
