Overview

I am currently project managing part 2 of a collaborative BEIS funded Greeghouse Gas Removal project  - SeaCURE, with Paul Halloran in Geography as PI, Other partners on the project are Plymouth Marine Laboratory, Brunel University and Eliquo Hydrok - a cornish based engineering firm which is part of Skion Water. The project will run until April 2025 it is largely a proof of concept  project and involves building a pilot plant at Weymouth Sealife Centre that removes CO2 out of seawater before returning it to the sea where it extracts more CO2 out of the atmosphere, due to the natural process of the carbon cycle.

Career

I was based at Edinburgh University for 11 years where undertook two post graduate degrees and a post doc. In between my studies I was a GIS trainer, GIS and environmental consultant and set up the NERC Field Spectroscopy Facility. I then moved back to Devon (where I grew up), and spent 6 years at South West Water where I was a Leakage Analyst (this strongly related to my PhD and post doc research). Latterly I was a Project Manager and Organisation Development Consultant - managing change projects across Pennon Group.
