Overview

Frances is part of a team delivering business support to Cornwall-based enterprises and is responsible for providing start-ups and SMEs with valuable opportunities to develop knowledge and insights to help them grow their business.  Whether through events, networking or introductions, Frances is keen to raise awareness of the opportunities for business founders across the region's business community, establishing strong relationships around the South West and find ways to engage in partnerships with the University.

A Prince2 Practitioner, Frances has worked across private, public, volunteer and social enterprise sectors and has wide-ranging experience in high growth start ups as well as £m construction and heritage restoration projects.

In her spare time, Frances has been heavily involved in agricultural shows and served on the board as Chair and President for her own local show in Devon

Career

Before moving to Devon in 2001 Frances worked in the City of London for 15 years in the banking sector, giving her experience across mergers and acquisitions, commodities and foreign exchange before being involved in her first start up project within the film industry.

A variety of supportive roles in high growth start ups have since followed, including international management consultancy, WiFi tech and nuclear engineering, all of which have developed a wide variety of skills and knowledge.
