Katie is an Impact and Partnership Development Officer on The Future is Green project.

Career

Previously, Katie worked on the Arca project, delivering visual content, events, and activities designed to build skills, educate, and inspire in Cornwall's transition to a circular economy.

She is also a visual artist and writer who captures the inspiring magic and beauty of nature. Believing strongly in Moholy-Nagy’s opinion that the camera is a tool that can be used to see the world anew, she explores abstraction and the often-overlooked aspects of our world with close attention to detail.

Projects:

The Future is Green project: Impact and Partnership Development Officer, Exeter Innovation

January 2024 - March 2025

The Future is Green is a collaborative research project, part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, that delivers skills development courses and programmes to individuals across Cornwall and The Isles of Scilly. The project aims to support the development of skills needed for the future green economy.

The project is led by The Cornwall College Group in collaboration with 8 highly experienced delivery partners, including the University of Exeter. The project runs from January 2024 to March 2025.

This project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity FundCornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The Arca Project: Impact and Partnership Development Officer, Exeter Innovation

March 2022 - December 2023

Principal Investigator: Stefano Pascucci 

Arca. Italian for ark. Building skills for the circular economy.

Led by the University of Exeter Business School, working in partnership with Truro & Penwith College, from 2021 – 2023 Arca supported over 160 businesses and 370 individuals in their transition to the circular economy.

Our workshops and training programmes were aimed at SMEs in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We combined the latest business research with the hands-on experience of local entrepreneurs to deliver practical and engaging training programmes.

The project was part-funded through the European Social Fund (part of the European Strategic Investment Framework for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly).
