Overview
Role
Patrick leads a commercial operations team within Exeter Innovation responsible for due diligence on external partners and investors, and providing regulatory and compliance advice across areas such as export control, national security, conflict of interest and procurement.
Patrick also supports innovation and commercialisation activity at Exeter through the developement and delivery of the Idea Incubator and Entrepreneurial Researcher Programme - internal accelerator programmes to help transform research outputs into novel, commercially viable products and services.
He manages Exeter Innovation's communications and content curation team who tell the world about our impactful industry partnerships and commercial ventures.
Profile
Patrick joined the University in 2014 after a period of living overseas and having spent time in the Civil Service and industry. He has worked across a variety of roles supporting research governance and previously managed Exeter Innovation's translational and impact funding portfolio worth ~£1m per annum and leveraging a 13:1 ROI.
