LGBTQ+ History Month

LGBTQ+ History Month is celebrated every February in the UK, created to recognise, celebrate and bring visibility to the contributions and struggles of the LGBTQ+ community throughout history. It's about honouring and elevating this diverse community of people who have faced discrimination, oppression, and marginalisation due to their sexual orientation or gender identity. LGBTQ+ History Month UK provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements and resilience of LGBTQ+ individuals and to highlight their important role in shaping society. It's also an opportunity to reflect on the ongoing struggle for LGBTQ+ rights and equality and to recognise the contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals to the advancement of civil rights and social justice. LGBTQ+ History Month is a time to learn, share, and celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community, and to promote understanding and acceptance for all people regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
