The Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences encourages visits from high-quality doctoral students and researchers who wish to contribute to, and participate in the research culture and work of the Faculty Normally, our visiting scholars are full-time members of another university.
We expect our visiting scholars to participate in the academic life of the department as much as possible, for example, engaging in discussions or joint projects with departmental members and presenting papers about their own research seminar programmes. There are a number of options for visiting scholars to come to the Faculty.
Visiting Scholars

The Faculty encourages visits from academics who wish to contribute to and participate in the research culture and work of the Faculty.
Academics or researchers wishing to visit the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences for an agreed period of time can complete and submit the faculty's Visiting Scholar Application Form. Before completing the form, applicants are encouraged to read the guidance outlined on the application form and discuss their application with an academic colleague/s in the department they are hoping to visit.

Visiting Research Students

Research students should initially identify an academic mentor within the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. The mentor will then contact the Admissions team to obtain a link to the on-line application form for the visiting PGR to complete.
