International student clearance
- All non-UK students will need to present their passport and immigration status (visa) to the University in person.
- You will need to book an appointment to attend International Student Clearance.
- You will not be able to complete your University registration until you have completed this step.

- Cornwall campuses: Book International Student Clearance appointment
What to bring with you to the appointment
We recommend that all students bring or have access to:
- A mobile phone or laptop
- The internet (you can connect to the University’s WiFi in advance of your appointment)
In addition to the above list, select one option below that fits your situation for details of what to bring with you on the day:
Your passport and share code. If you have a Student visa, you will also need proof of the date you entered the UK (for example a stamp in your passport, boarding pass or flight, train or ferry ticket) unless you have applied for your visa from inside the UK.
To generate a share code, log into your account on this page: View and Prove your immigration status, select the 'something else' option when prompted to ensure the correct type of share code is generated for the University to view.
Some students will need to create an online account to access their eVisa before they can generate a share code. To create an account, follow the instructions on this page: Get access to your eVisa.
Your passport and proof of the date you entered the UK (for example a stamp in your passport, boarding pass or flight, train or ferry ticket).
If your visa was granted in advance of travelling, you will also need to generate a share code for your eVisa (please see eVisa section above).
Your passport and evidence of an in-time visa application. You will normally need to show your previous visa and your UKVI Document Checklist which you can download from your UKVI account. You can show this on your phone or laptop.
If you have difficulty finding this, please bring any other evidence you have to your International Student Clearance appointment and we will assist you.
After registration
If you’ve already attended International Student Clearance and have registered for your programme, but you still have some outstanding tasks, select the option below that fits your situation.
Received new visa as an eVisa
If your visa application was outstanding when you attended International Student Clearance and you have now received your visa as an eVisa, you must provide this to the University by emailing your name, student number and a share code to the Immigration Compliance team.
To generate a share code, log into your account on this page: View and Prove your immigration status, select the 'something else' option when prompted to ensure the correct type of share code is generated for the University to view.
You do not need to attend International Student Clearance again.
