Training and Development

We have a wide range of training and development opportunities for Early Career Researchers (ECRs)- you can view the opportunities available to you below. 

As a new ECR you are also required to complete mandatory training, as directed by HR. For more information about mandatory training for staff please visit the HR webpages. 

Researcher Development Programme

The Researcher Development programme, is a dedicated programme specifically designed for ECRs. 

Careers Support

We have a dedicated careers coach with whom you are able to book a 1-2-1 appointment to discuss your next steps and options. 

Learning and Development

As well as the RDP programme, ECRs also have access to any of the courses ran centrally by the Learning and Development team.

The Exeter Academic

The Exeter Academic focuses on how the University continues to create the right environment for our academic community to be the best that they can be.

Open Research

The Open Research team supports Research Data Management and Open Access. That includes the institutional repository ORE, central open access funds and publishers’ agreements to publish in open access without costs.

GW4

As well as training provided by the University, ECRs also have access to the training provided by GW4.

 

LibGuide

The Library has created a dedicated LibGuide for ECRs to help them navigate the library resources. 

Coding for Reproducible Research is a training programme offers a holistic perspective on how programming tasks should be approached. It is a series of workshops designed to support researchers at the University of Exeter in expanding their skill sets and positioning them to confidently perform informatics research projects efficiently and in a reproducible way. Our workshops provide researchers with the tools and knowledge to feel confident in conducting their research.
