Coastal to Ocean Futures
Human activity impacts the space surrounding us, including the marine environment; in turn, environmental changes, including oceanic ones, have ecosystems and human impacts.
The processes include linkages between land and ocean, between the ocean and atmosphere, between biogeochemical cycles and climate, and climatic impacts on ecosystems, are complex and multi-faceted.
The research by members of this joint group extends in space from estuarine, in-shore, and coastal environments to continental shelves and the open, deep ocean, and in time from paleo-research, through hindcasts and contemporary studies, to future modeling.
