Exeter Open Day Marshal

The 2023/24 open day dates are as follows:

  • Saturday 7 October 2023
  • Friday 31 May and Saturday 1 June 2024

If you are a current student at the University of Exeter and are interested in being contacted about working on open days on the Streatham and St Luke’s campuses with the Student Recruitment and Operations Team during the course of the 2023/24 academic year, please complete the form here. We will be in touch during the course of the year if any opportunities arise that may be of interest to you.

Please note that UK law mandates that employers must only employ people who are legally permitted to work in the UK. These regulations require an employer to verify a new employee’s right to work (RTW) in this country by checking and copying certain documents and to undertake annual checks on employees whose right to work in the UK is time-limited. If you are offered any work during the year, you will need to provide documentation (originals, not copies) before the work takes place, proving your right to work as follows:

  • UK and Irish citizens can prove right to work (RTW) with their passport
  • Citizens of all other nations will need to provide a share code (generated on the gov.uk site) and date of birth, along with any other documents required to prove RTW as detailed in the List of acceptable documents from the government guidance.
  • Please note: Biometric Residence Permits (BRP) are no longer acceptable as sole proof of RTW, and must be accompanied by a share code. For more specific information on how you can prove RTW if you are not able to provide a share code, please see this service on the gov.uk site. This service allows checks specific to each individual's circumstances and can be useful in determining what documents would constitute proof of RTW for each individual.

The current (as at January 2024) pay rate for this work is £13.45 (£12.00 basic pay + £1.45 holiday pay) per hour.

Please note that this work would be casual work. Further information for casual workers engaged by the University plus the terms and conditions for casual workers click here.
