Fr Michael Wheaton is the Catholic University Chaplain and the Priest in Charge of Crediton Parish.

As Chaplain, his primary role is to encourage, represent, and support the Catholic community in the University.

In addition to offering the sacraments, Fr Michael is also available to any student or member of staff, of all Christian persuasions or none at all, who would like to talk to him on a one-to-one basis. He can be contacted by phone or email.

Fr Michael can also act as a link to many other students, staff and useful agencies around the University.

In his spare time, he loves to read, work on the garden, and cook.

Maria Giannone is Fr Michael's assistant and she lives on the Chaplaincy site. Maria is the sacristan, organises the liturgy at Mass and sends out the weekly student email.

Mirtha Mangone

Mirtha joined the Chaplaincy Team as Administrator in July 2023. In her role, she ensures the smooth operation of the Chaplaincy, overseeing building maintenance, health and safety compliance, the student accommodation process, organising Tuesday and Sunday lunches, and much more! Additionally, Mirtha serves as the Safeguarding Officer, dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

Mirtha works on Tuesdays and Thursdays, often accompanied by her adorable dog, Chica.
